Alejandra Martin is Senior Program Officer at American Jewish World Service. She brings over 15 years of experience working with a range of stakeholders from grassroots community-based organizations and social movements to governments and corporations, all the while advancing the human rights, environmental and socioeconomic concerns of marginalized peoples. She has previously worked with the Rights and Resources Initiative, Forest Trends, Business for Social Responsibility, and the Brazilian Institute for Education and Sustainable Business (IBENS). She will oversee the natural resource rights portfolios in Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador, along with the civil and political rights portfolios in Mexico and Guatemala. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, and conversant in Portuguese and French. Alejandra has a BA in Latin American Studies and Political Science from the University of Texas (Austin) and an MA in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University.
