Judith Stern
Board Member
Judith (Judy) Stern is a retired physical therapist who has devoted the last 40 plus years of her professional life to teaching the Alexander Technique. She was a senior faculty member at the American Center for the Alexander Technique and practiced privately in Rye, NY. Judy participated in the United Jewish Appeal-Federation of New York’s Westchester Program Services Cabinet and served two terms as their chairperson. She serves on the advisory board of the Center for Pastoral Education (CPE) at JTS and is an active member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun. Judy is blessed with four adult children who expand her world every day. She has been an AJWS board member for 8 years and has participated in 6 AJWS study tours: 2 to India, Thailand, Burma, Uganda, and Senegal. Judy chairs the Development Committee of the Board and is deeply committed to protecting the human rights of our grantee–partners in the Global South.
