Trans and intersex groups across the world are fighting against discrimination and violence, day in and day out, but are severely under-resourced. In 2016, American Jewish World Service, along with Global Action for Trans Equality and Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, surveyed more than 450 trans groups and more than 50 intersex groups to learn more about the needs and priorities of these two movements that are deepening our understandings of sexual and gender diversity in the broader human rights landscape.

“The State of Trans Organizing” and “The State of Intersex Organizing” make a compelling case for why greater global attention and funding is needed to ensure that trans and intersex issues no longer remain on the margins of the global human rights movement.
