Transgender Rights

We support transgender people in their efforts to end discrimination, violence, abuse and widespread inequities in accessing healthcare, employment, identification documents that reflect their gender identity and the full expression of their human rights.

The Problems

Across the globe, transgender people are denied the right to make decisions about their own lives and bodies. People like Dayanara, a trans woman from Nicaragua, are routinely ostracized by their families, shunned from society, harassed in schools, denied jobs and stripped of their basic human dignity

Our Solutions

AJWS supports trans organizations and movements in developing countries working to end discrimination, stop violence and abuse, and combat hate crimes against the trans community. The advocates we support are educating their communities about trans rights to create lasting change.
