As we brace ourselves for a newly hostile climate for global human rights, we cannot lose sight of the small wins around the world that happen every day.
You won’t see these victories on the news and they won’t go viral on social media. But now more than ever, they’re stories AJWS needs to tell.
In this edition of Stories of Hope, we are sharing snapshots of AJWS grantees making a difference in people’s lives, every day, all over the globe. And their successes are made possible by your ongoing support of AJWS.
Also, be sure to check out how you can take action to support courageous activists fighting for human rights in the Dominican Republic then read on to see even more inspiring grantee stories in our annual report.
“Journalist! Doctor! Engineer! Lawyer!”
Travel to rural India and hear the power of hundreds of adolescent girls’ voices demanding their right to education and a career! Watch our latest video, a dispatch from AJWS grantee AMIED, which has helped over 15,000 girls reenroll in school — something that was impossible just a few years ago.
URGENT: Take action to stop inhumane deportations to Haiti
A human rights crisis is unfolding in the Dominican Republic, as the government is violating their own laws by detaining and deporting migrants and others with perceived ties to Haiti. AJWS partners in the region have been supporting the human rights of these communities for years. Please contact leaders in Congress and urge them to pressure the Dominican government to halt these cruel actions today.
More Stories of Hope
