An unyielding value of American Jewish World Service is the sanctity of human life. It propels our human rights mission in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and it guides our hearts.
The nightmare that continues in Israel and Gaza has caused enormous pain to all members of our community, our Jewish community, our diverse global community, and all those who join with us in the fight for human rights. We mourn the loss of the thousands who have been killed and kidnapped and acknowledge in sorrow the uncertainty that lies ahead.
Ours is a vision of peace, of communities around the world moving forward together, embracing the Jewish value of b’tzelem Elohim, the inherent dignity of every human being. We redouble our energies as we stand with people all over the world who pray for peace, today, in the difficult days to come, and the days that will follow.
