How could the U.S. elections affect AJWS’s fight for human rights around the world?

If our upcoming elections are consuming much of your mental and emotional energy, I want you to know: You are not alone. The lead-up to November 5 has been exhausting because of its unpredictability, but even more so because we know so much is at stake.

Here at AJWS, we’re thinking about the fragility of our own democracy – but also how policy and leadership here will affect the life-altering work of our partner organizations in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The United States has often been a vocal defender of human rights worldwide–a tradition we hope continues long after this election.

That’s why this month, we’ve created a special edition of Stories of Hope, exploring one critical question: How could our votes in the United States affect human rights activists and their communities around the world?

To find an answer, we turned to some of our trusted partners – activists on the front lines of local, national and international fights for human rights.

Read on, and please, please vote on November 5.
