American Jewish World Service Formally Joins Sudan NOW

New York, NY; December 10, 2010—American Jewish World Service (AJWS), a human rights and international development organization, announced today that it has formally joined Sudan NOW, a campaign led by a group of prominent anti-genocide and human rights advocacy organizations committed to bringing meaningful and lasting peace to Sudan and encouraging strong American leadership and action to achieve this goal.

“After working as colleagues with many of the organizations that make up Sudan NOW, American Jewish World Service is thrilled to have recently joined this effort as a formal partner,” AJWS president Ruth W. Messinger said. “Since 2004 when AJWS began its efforts in response to the genocide in Darfur, we have been a consistent voice advocating for partnership and cooperation in the advocacy community. Sudan NOW has proven its effectiveness in promoting positive change in U.S. policy, and we look forward to working together towards a peaceful Sudan.”
