Judd Apatow Directed AJWS PSA Selected for Feature on YouTube Homepage and Cash Prize

New York, NY; March 21, 2011—American Jewish World Service (AJWS), an international development and human rights organization, has won YouTube’s and See3 Communications’ “DoGooder Nonprofit Video Award” for its Judd Apatow directed public service announcement (PSA). Selected as one of four winners from more than 1,350 video entries from nonprofit organizations, AJWS’s PSA was featured on YouTube’s homepage, a site that receives 18 million visitors per day, for 24 hours starting the evening of March 18th. Additionally, AJWS will receive $2,500 provided by the Case Foundation, a video camera from Flip Video and a free registration to next year’s Nonprofit Technology Conference from NTEN.

“AJWS would like to thank See3, YouTube and everyone who voted for AJWS for this prestigious award,” said AJWS President Ruth Messinger. “And, thank you to Judd Apatow, Jordan Rubin and the video’s featured actors and comedians for helping us find an amusing way to start a serious conversation about human rights and global justice.”

The DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards is an annual contest run by YouTube and See3 Communications, an interactive communications agency specializing in video, web and outreach for nonprofits. Celebrating its fifth year, the DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards has given thousands of dollars in grants and prizes to nonprofit organizations with the goal of advancing the use of video to support the work of the nonprofit sector and social good.
