SPONSOR. The sponsor of the sweepstakes “Win a Trip to the AJWS 40th Anniversary Celebration in New York City or San Francisco” (the “Sweepstakes”) is American Jewish World Service, 45 West 36th Street, New York, NY, 10018.
SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD. The Sweepstakes will begin on July 10, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern time (“ET”) and will end on July 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Entries received before or after the Sweepstakes Period will be void and ineligible for consideration. American Jewish World Service reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to shorten or extend the Sweepstakes Period at any time.
ELIGIBILITY. The Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the continental United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older (or who have reached the age of majority in their state, whichever is older) as of the start of the Sweepstakes Period. Employees, officers, and directors of American Jewish World Service and any of its affiliated entities, programs, and initiatives as well as the immediate family members and household members of such employees, officers, and directors are not eligible to participate. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
HOW TO ENTER. Entries may be made electronically and must include your full name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. To enter by making a contribution, click here. You can enter without making a donation by clicking here. All entries must be received by American Jewish World Service by July 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Limit one (1) entry per person during the Sweepstakes Period. Any subsequent entries from the same person will be void. By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Restrictions. Sponsor is not responsible for and will disqualify any entries that are late, lost, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, or fraudulent.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION. On or about the week of August 1, 2025, American Jewish World Service will select a potential Winner, at random, from the pool of all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. The odds of being selected as a potential Winner will depend upon the number of eligible entries American Jewish World Service during the Sweepstakes Period. American Jewish World Service will make two (2) attempts to notify the potential Winner via the phone number and/or e-mail address provided at the time of entry. Within seven (7) days of the first notification (or the second notification if the first notification is not successful), the potential Winner and one guest selected by the Winner (the “Guest”) must execute and return an affidavit or declaration of liability, an affidavit of eligibility, and a liability release. The potential Winner and Guest may also be required to submit to additional background checks, provide American Jewish World Service with a valid social security number or tax identification number for tax purposes, and cooperate with American Jewish World Service in any way that American Jewish World Service requests in order to be confirmed as the Winner and Guest. The Guest must be a legal resident of the continental United States and or the District of Columbia and 18 years of age or older (or who have reached the age of majority in their state, whichever is older) as of the start of the Sweepstakes Period (the “Guest”). If the potential Winner and/or Guest fail to adhere to any health and safety protocols required to attend the event (including, but not limited to, proof of COVID-19 vaccination), meet the eligibility requirements, or otherwise comply with these Official Rules and Restrictions, or if awarding the Prize to the potential Winner and/or Guest may reflect negatively on American Jewish World Service (as determined by American Jewish World Service, in its sole discretion), American Jewish World Service reserves the right to disqualify the potential Winner and/or Guest and select another eligible entrant at random, from the pool of remaining eligible entries, as the potential Winner. If the potential Winner cannot be contacted, or if the potential Winner and Guest do not complete in a timely manner the required documentation or provide the requested information, the potential Winner will forfeit the Prize and American Jewish World Service will select another eligible entrant at random, from the pool of remaining eligible entries, as the potential Winner.
PRIZE. There will be one (1) prize (“Prize”) awarded to the confirmed Winner, which will consist of the following for the Winner and Winner’s Guest: (i) coach-class round trip airfare within the continental United States to New York City or San Francisco, (ii) single room hotel accommodations for up to two nights, and (iii) tickets to attend the American Jewish World Service 40th Anniversary Celebration in New York City on November 13, 2025 or the American Jewish World Service 40th Anniversary Celebration in San Francisco on November 16, 2025 as guests. The travel arrangements and accommodations shall be determined at the sole and absolute discretion of American Jewish World Service. The approximate retail value of this opportunity is $3,000-$4,500, but the actual value will vary depending on exact travel arrangements and specific events. If, in the judgment of American Jewish World Service, air travel is not required due to the Winner or Guest’s proximity to New York City or San Francisco, ground transportation fare will be substituted for roundtrip airfare at American Jewish World Service’s sole and absolute discretion. The Prize cannot be transferred, substituted, or redeemed for cash. All federal, state and local taxes on the Prize, and any expenses, costs, and fees incurred by the Winner and/or Guest (e.g. meals, gratuities) that are not specifically included in the definition of the Prize, are the obligation of the Winner.
RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS. The Prize is subject to airline ticket and hotel availability and other conditions and restrictions. If the Winner and/or Guest cannot travel on the dates and/or times specified by American Jewish World Service, the Winner will forfeit the Prize and American Jewish World Service may select another eligible entrant at random, from the pool of remaining eligible entries, as the potential Winner. American Jewish World Service is not responsible if the American Jewish World Service 40th Anniversary Celebration is postponed or canceled for any reason, in whole or in part, or if the Winner and Guest cannot be confirmed within sufficient time to attend the event.
CONDITIONS. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant attests that the entrant is of majority age; confirms that the entrant has adhered to all laws applicable to the entrant with respect to the entrance and participation in the Sweepstakes; and also agrees to release and hold harmless American Jewish World Service, its directors, officers, employees and agents from any liability for any from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, injuries, losses, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees and costs) directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes. By entering the Sweepstakes, the Winner agrees that American Jewish World Service may publicize the Winner’s name, image, voice, and/or likeness, and a description of activities relating to the Prize except where prohibited by law. American Jewish World Service is not obligated to compensate the Winner for any publicity. In the event that Winner and/or Guest engage in behavior that is inappropriate, threatening or unlawful (as determined by American Jewish World Service in its sole and absolute discretion), American Jewish World Service reserves the right to terminate the Prize (including the trip or other applicable experience) early. The Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta, Bluesky, or any other social media forum. By participating, each entrant hereby releases and holds harmless Meta and Bluesky from any and all liability associated with the Sweepstakes. DISPUTES AND GOVERNING LAW. The Sweepstakes is governed by, and will be construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees that the entrant will, in the first instance, seek to resolve any controversy or claim directly or indirectly arising out of the entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes through direct discussions with American Jewish World Service or through mediation. If direct discussions and mediation are not successful, the entrant will agree to resolve the claim through final and binding arbitration. The remedy for any such controversy or claim shall be limited to actual damages, and in no event shall any party be entitled to recover punitive, exemplary, consequential, or incidental damages, including attorney’s fees or other such related costs of bringing a claim, or to rescind the terms agreed to through these Official Rules and Restrictions or seek injunctive or any other equitable relief.
