Narwan Seraj is responsible for supporting the grants management team in implementing AJWS’s core grantmaking portfolio in Africa and Asia. Prior to joining AJWS, Narwan was a compliance associate at Global Communication Services, supporting over 30 therapists who provided therapeutic services for individuals with developmental disabilities. A native of Afghanistan, Narwan has lived in Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, India and Australia. She is fluent in Dari/Farsi and Urdu/Hindi, and comfortably understands Bahasa Malay and Indonesian. In 2014, Narwan graduated from City College with a B.A in Jewish studies and a fellowship from the Colin Powell School of Public Service. While at City College, Narwan was one of four students chosen for an all-inclusive trip to Morocco, where she participated in a case study on the Jews of Morocco.
