Katherine Olivera (she/ella) is the Policy Advisor for Sexual Health and Rights at American Jewish World Service, where she leads the implementation of the Sexual Health and Rights (SHR) advocacy strategy with the United States government. Katherine previously worked for several years at the International Women’s Health Coalition, where she developed and implemented SHR advocacy strategies for Congress and the Executive Branch, including in multilateral fora. Before that, she was a Community Outreach Coordinator and Senior Health Educator at a healthcare center in Virginia, where she worked with local reproductive justice organizations to increase abortion funding and access for people in Virginia. She holds a BA in International Studies with a concentration in social justice from Virginia Commonwealth University and a certificate in International Human Rights Law from Université Catholique de Louvain. In her free time, Kat enjoys working with different mediums to create handmade jewelry. She is also passionate about animal rescue and has four pets: dogs named Kandee and Camila, and cats named Tokio and Nairobi.
