Urge the Honduran Government to Seek Justice for Human Rights Defenders
Less than two weeks after the brutal murder of longtime AJWS grantee, Berta Cáceres, a champion of human and environmental rights, another human rights activist in Honduras was shot dead. Nelson García, who worked closely with Berta to defend the land and water rights of the Lenca indigenous community, was killed by Honduran security forces.
These assassinations are being used to silence defenders of human rights in Honduras, and they are part of a wave of escalating violence and repression in that country.
As Americans, and as Jews, we cannot stand idly by in the face of this horrific injustice.
Tell the Honduran government to end the brutality against human rights defenders in Honduras.
We cannot allow fear, intimidation, and violence to escalate in a country where innocent people are losing their lives.
Demand Justice for Berta Cáceres and Nelson García
