      In her role as Director of Digital and Strategic Content, Jordan Namerow oversees AJWS's brand positioning in the public arena by securing strategic speaking engagements and by conceptualizing opinion pieces, speeches and other narrative content to raise the organization's profile on the national and global stage. Prior to joining AJWS, Jordan worked as an online communications specialist at the Jewish Women's Archive, a national nonprofit organization, and was the 2005-2006 Roslyn Z. Wolf International Fellow of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in Warsaw, Poland. Jordan holds a B.A. in sociology from Wellesley College and an M.S. in strategic communications from Columbia University.

        Director of Publications and Editorial Services
        Leah Kaplan Robins is Director of Publications and Editorial Services at American Jewish World Service. She oversees the production of an array of print and online publications and develops and maintains AJWS’s editorial “voice” and brand. In her role at AJWS Leah uses stories and strategic content to inspire supporters to deepen their giving and take action as part of the organization’s campaigns and advocacy work. She also writes and edits op-eds to raise awareness about human rights issues in the Jewish and mainstream media. Leah joined AJWS in 2008, after serving as an editor, grant writer and communications associate at several New York nonprofit organizations, including the Covenant Foundation, the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Leah was a Dorot Fellow and holds a B.A. in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University.

        Director of Development Operations
        As Director of Development Operations, Cathy Wolf oversees administrative and reporting functions of the organization’s development and fundraising activities. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of donation processing, acknowledgement letters, event support, metrics and major gift reporting. Prior to joining AJWS in 2005, Cathy worked for more than 25 years in the for-profit sector as a learning consultant in distribution marketing, leading the measurement and analytic efforts of classroom and e-learning solutions. She is an active volunteer for special needs children and recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award, which recognizes extraordinary people who live a life of service.

        Director of Advocacy Timi Gerson leads AJWS’s government affairs and public policy efforts in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining AJWS, she spent more than a decade in senior organizing, advocacy and communications positions focused on promoting global justice in U.S. policy toward the developing world. Timi received her B.A. in women’s studies from Earlham College and has lived and worked in South and Central America.

        Director of Campaigns and Organizing
        As Director of Campaigns and Organizing, Rebecca Wasserman works to mobilize the American Jewish community to support AJWS’s U.S. and international policy change agenda. Prior to joining AJWS, Rebecca developed strategic campaigns and worked in government affairs for a variety of nonprofit organizations in the student, labor and international political arena. Rebecca holds a B.A. in political science and social welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

        Rachel Jacoby Rosenfield is Director of Experiential Education and is responsible for developing and implementing the AJWS Global Justice Fellowship and other innovative programmatic initiatives to support AJWS’s national strategy. Rachel has more than 20 years of experience in Jewish communal service and program development and prior to joining AJWS, she was the founding Director of the Jewish Greening Fellowship. She holds an M.A. in comparative literature from University of California, Berkeley.

Over the last 18 years, Merrill has directed initiatives at several Jewish social justice organizations, all of which engaged segments of the U.S. Jewish community in putting their Jewish values into action for social change across a broad spectrum of domestic and global issues. Merrill graduated from Kenyon College with a B.A. in religion and anthropology and holds an M.P.A. in public and nonprofit administration and policy from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University.
