Marion Lev-Cohen
Rabbi Marion Lev-Cohen is the Director of Adult Education and Engagement at Central Synagogue. She currently serves on the boards of the American Jewish World Service, the Institute of Jewish Spirituality, and Synagogue 3000. She is a past board member of the Foundation for Jewish Camp, the Joint Distribution Committee, the Jewish Agency where she served as the national chair of MAKOM, an initiative to deepen Israel engagement. She chaired the Renaissance and Renewal Pillar of UJC and served as an officer of that organization, served on the boards of Hillel International, Jewish Educational Services of North America, the JCC of Manhattan and the Hartman Institute and was a former member of the UJA/Federation of NY’s Executive Committee and former chair of the Commission on Jewish Identity and Renewal.
A psychotherapist by profession, she ran the graduate training program for social work students at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and was an instructor at the B.U. School of Social Work. She is a graduate of the Wexner Heritage Foundation program. A mother of two, she resides with her husband Steven M. Cohen in New York and Jerusalem. She joined the AJWS board of trustees in 2005.
