NDF was founded in 1995 to encourage development rooted in the principles of social justice and sustainable ecological systems in northern Thailand. NDF provides land rights training for forest communities and actively networks with other nonprofits with the aim of incorporating communal land rights into legislation in Thailand.

Sustainable Livelihoods and Development
To promote sustainable, community-based land management by establishing community learning centers in pilot areas and strengthening the Northern Land Network that advocates and campaigns for land reform.
