PPCC was founded in 1993 to build a more compassionate, reconciliatory and peace-making community in Sri Lanka’s war zone. The organization works in communities in eastern Sri Lanka that have faced multiple displacements and trauma from the 2004 tsunami, the ongoing armed conflict and interpersonal and community violence.

Barefoot Counseling Program
To promote mental health for traumatized communities in eastern Sri Lanka by building the skills and knowledge of counselors who work at the grassroots level.
