CED was founded in 2005 to ensure quality and equity in education for all irrespective of race, religion, language, social status or disabilities. CED's mission is to promote and advocate for the involvement of civil society organizations from the community level to the national level in the formulation and implementation of national policy that ensures quality education for all and to support achieving innovative educational programs at all levels to ensure quality and equal opportunities.

Education Watch to Achieve Education for All Children in Sri Lanka
To raise the awareness of regional Sri Lankan decisionmakers about the need to reform existing educational policies; and to advocate for the appropriate utilization of public resources to eliminate disparities among schools.
