Projects in Pakistan

AJWS has been providing emergency support in Pakistan since October 2005, when an earthquake devastated communities across the northern parts of the country. Support in Pakistan is directed toward relief and rehabilitation, with the aim of assisting local communities in the reconstruction of their physical surroundings and creating economic opportunities. AJWS's grantmaking targets the communities most severely affected by the earthquake with a special focus on women and youth. Due to instability in the region, some of these projects face security threats on the ground. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community-based partners, AJWS does not list our Pakistan grantees on our website.
