HEAL Movement was founded in 1984 with the vision of creating an egalitarian society based on equal opportunity and justice. HEAL works with the marginalized poor, particularly Dalit women and children, and mobilizes these communities into federations to strengthen their collective bargaining power.

Seashell Collectors Federation in Tsunami-Affected Communities
To strengthen the Seashell Collectors Federation with a final phase-out grant that will provide educational and vocational assistance to girls; run livelihood and capacity-building programs for women in the community; and provide seed money to ensure the sustainability of the Federation while it looks for other sources of funding.
