Bharathi Trust was founded in 1990 to improve the lives of unorganized sector workers throughout Tamil Nadu. The organization advocates for comprehensive social security for informal economy workers, fights state-sponsored and personal violence against tribal populations and women, and combats the migration and displacement of both populations due to industrial encroachment in the northern regions of Tamil Nadu state.
