NGS was established in 2005 to fill an educational gap in the conflict-plagued Karen region of Burma by offering secondary schooling opportunities to indigenous youth. NGS provides progressive and practical education with a standard curriculum and courses that instill critical consciousness in its students.

Education for Conflict-Affected Children and Youth
To increase access to quality education in internally discplaced person areas and build critical thinking skills of internally displaced youth by running a secondary school program in eastern Burma.
