OFRANEH was founded in 1979 to represent and advocate for the interests of the Afro-Carib Garífuna minority in Honduras. OFRANEH works to protect the Garífuna community's capacity for self-determination through programs promoting their political, social, economic and cultural advancement.
Project
Building Garifuna Response in Adaptation to Climate Change and Defense of Land Rights
To support development of a community approach to climate change and disaster-risk reduction, including early warning systems. The organization will also formalize the role of women in a national network and will continue to provide legal support for international court cases regarding land rights.
