MOPUTEL is an association of more than 300 families with working children in seven impoverished neighborhoods of the former United Fruit Company town of Tela. The organization was founded in 1990 to enable parents to create positive alternatives for their families, and promotes justice and participatory democracy as solutions to the problem of child labor and extreme poverty.
