Arcoiris was founded in 2003 to create the Rainbow House, a center for training community leaders and as a base for outreach efforts. Arcoiris work focuses on HIV prevention and peer support, human rights promotion and defense, and cultural activities on behalf of the LGBT community in Comayagüela.

To promote, protect and defend the human rights of the LGBT community in Honduras, which, following the coup d'état, is increasingly facing persecution, violence , and the state's institutional discrimination.
