Founded in 2001 to oppose dams that negatively affect local communities, FPCR works to mobilize community activism against exploitative development. The organization educates the community about their land rights, and helps community members advocate on a national level for responsible development that respects the rights of local people.

Community Organizing Around Hydroelectric Dams
To strengthen FPCR's advocacy and national organizing efforts against hydroelectric projects through popular education and awareness-raising with affected communities as well as alliance building with other organizations and community groups resisting the construction of megaprojects.
