Frente Petenero Contra Represas (FPCR)

Founded in 2001 to oppose dams that negatively affect local communities, FPCR works to mobilize community activism against exploitative development. The organization educates the community about their land rights, and helps community members advocate on a national level for responsible development that respects the rights of local people.


Community Organizing Around Hydroelectric Dams

Purpose: To promote the territorial rights of indigenous populations through popular education and awareness-raising, joint advocacy actions, and developing and implementing a safety and security plan.
