To support a network of community education-focused organizations to advocate and raise awareness for the right to bilingual and intercultural education in rural indigenous communities.

To improve access to multicultural and inclusive education for indigenous youth through support for rural educational activities that include aspects and perspectives of indigenous culture and aim to strengthen indigenous identity and youth leadership.

This grant will support the integration of a community-based, holistic, culturally pertinent and transformative education process into state education systems, involving youth, community leaders, teachers and local general populations in advocacy and in the formulation of appropriate teaching techniques and curricula.

To work on an organizing campaign directed at lobbying the national government for improved rural development policies, including increasing access to land rights.

To strengthen the political participation of traditional community midwives and their ability to advocate for women's health agendas in municipal government spaces.

To strengthen FPCR's advocacy and national organizing efforts against hydroelectric projects through popular education and awareness-raising with affected communities as well as alliance building with other organizations and community groups resisting the construction of megaprojects.

To provide professional and vocational training for indigenous youth, as well as to continue to develop FNE's highly respected educational methodology and operate its educational center, focusing on developing a sustainable education curriculum that is culturally appropriate.

To support culturally pertinent and historically accurate education with rural indigenous youth, partially through the collection of oral history and its inclusion in curricula, as well as in advocacy efforts with the state as part of the national advocacy network AMEP.

To implement workshops, meetings and radio programs supporting Q'eqchí indigenous women to raise awareness and advocate for their rights in communities threatened by the construction of a major hydroelectric dam.

To support RAIS's national network of agricultural producers in Guatemala to improve agro-ecological techniques and practices, raise awareness around responsible consumption and strengthening the network's focus on Solidarity Economics.
