Founded in 1992, MODEMU is a network of women health promoters and sex workers who advocate for the health and human rights of sex workers in cities throughout the Dominican Republic.

Promoting Sex Worker Rights
To promote the human rights of sex workers through political advocacy at the local and national level; to raise HIV/AIDS awareness through programs run by community health promoters; and to train women in peer counseling, HIV/AIDS education and vocational skill-building.
