CENSAT, the Colombian chapter of Friends of the Earth, was founded in 1997 by a group of environmental and union activists, and promotes solutions that create environmentally sustainable and socially just societies. The organization monitors national and international environmental regulations and laws, and conducts research regarding development projects and their effects on the environment and on indigenous peoples.

Community Organizing for Territory and Resource Rights
To promote environmental justice rights of communities affected by energy megaprojects and to strengthen the management capacity of the organization by providing direct trainings, designing new policy initiatives and developing teaching tools.
