CNAMIB was founded in 2007 by women of 34 indigenous peoples from the Lowlands, Chaco and the Amazons, to promote indigenous women's leadership and political participation in the decision-making process of the Bolivian Indigenous rights agenda. CNAMIB is the first indigenous women's federation in the region.

Strengthening Political Leadership and Participation
To promote indigenous women's leadership and political participation in Bolivia's indigenous rights agenda by increasing indigenous women's participation in national debates, monitoring government budget transparency and designing policies that uphold indigenous women's rights.
