CDR was founded in 1987 in response to the government's failure to address growing poverty and marginalization. The organization operates programs that promote local development and create economic opportunity particularly for vulnerable children and women. CDR also provides education, counseling, vocational training, mentoring and recreational activities.
Project
Child Miner Education and Development Center
To incorporate miners' children into schools and provide mentorship to support their studies, as well as support their parents reach at least a sixth grade level of education, through advocacy initiatives and coordination between the departmental education service and local teachers.
