DLF was established in 2007 to support programs that encourage and sustain hospice and palliative care—the holistic care of patients with advanced incurable diseases—in sub-Saharan Africa. The organization is named after the late Princess of Wales, who was committed to helping those struggling with HIV/AIDS.

Zimbabwe Rural Hospice Services
To support two Zimbabwean organizations: the Seke Rural Hospice and Island Hospice Service for training 260 volunteer caregivers in palliative and hospice care.
