Founded as an intersex support group in December 2007 by an intersex Ugandan, SIPD is the only organization in Uganda and East Africa that aims to support and address the human rights of intersex people and children. SIPD works to create awareness about intersex conditions and advocate for a more open, tolerant and supportive society, and to advocate for protection, welfare and respect for the human rights of all intersex people in Uganda.
