Tostan

Tostan ("breakthrough") teaches adults and adolescents skills for becoming confident, dynamic and resourceful actors in the social and economic development of their communities. The program of informal basic education is taught in national languages and with a grounding in human rights, and is supplemented with micro-credit and economic development activities designed to promote sustainability.
