CASADES was formed in 1997 to help find solutions to the violent conflict in the Casamance region. Based in Kolda, the organization contributes to the establishment of a sustainable society by promoting peace and stability, civic participation and the interests of youth and women. CASADES works with more than 60 rural women's groups with the aim of building women’s capacity to represent their interests at community and district levels. The organization also runs peace and civic education programs, reaching over 800 youth.
