Association pour le Développement du Essing/Bayotte (ADEB)

Association pour le Développement du Essing/Bayotte (ADEB)

ADEB was founded in 2006 to facilitate peacemaking in the rural community of Nyassia, in a region at the heart of Senegal’s Casamance conflict. People in the community suffered frequent clashes between the army and Senegalese MFDC fighters, rape of women by the rebels, and the destruction of local socio-economic infrastructure (schools, clinics, markets), due to fighting and agriculture, due to land mines. The organization works to end the conflict and help local people rebuild their society.

Conflict Transformation Through Community Organizing
