Formed in 1984 and expanded in 1990 to include an independent health department with expertise in sexually transmitted infections and reproductive health, ACI provides services to local citizens and consultation and training activities in a number of surrounding African countries. It has played an integral role in developing Senegal’s response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

To strengthen the work of community-based organizations responding to HIV/AIDS through trainings on issues such as gender-based violence and vertical transmission of HIV/AIDS.
