Association of Disabled Females International (ADFI)
Engagement for Positive Action

To promote the social inclusion of people living with disabilities by advocating for unrestricted access to all voting centers during Liberia's 2011 elections; to organize a series of community discussions to explain the significance of the elections and the political agendas of those running for public office to ensure that women, young people and traditional leaders make an informed decision; and to advocate for the inclusion of issues specific to the disabled community in the agenda of a referendum preceding the elections.

Community Recovery and Peacebuilding

To promote food security by supporting small business and marketing development for farming groups in Nimba County; and to build the capacities of two communities to advocate for an adequate allocation and utilization of mining revenues for the development of their regions.

Foundation for Community Initiatives (FCI)
Increasing Women's Participation in the Forestry Sector

To convene a series of meetings for 150 Liberian women to discuss the issues that are affecting their participation in the management and governance of natural resources in southeastern Liberia and to develop an action plan to enhance women's engagement in the forestry sector.

Imani House, Inc. (IHI)
Expansion of Health and Literacy Program

To promote community health and women's empowerment through expansion of IHI's adult literacy program and staffing of a health clinic; and to provide sex education to 200 teenage girls through a peer education program in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies and increase girls' confidence.

Empowering Rural Women through Vocational Training

To promote rural women's empowerment through skills development entrepreneurship, farming and vocational training; and to promote women's rights and fight against gender-based violence through awareness-raising targeting men and young people.

Mano River Union Peace Network Liberia (MARWOPNET)
Regranting and Capacity Building for Community-Based Organizations

To increase women's civic and political participation during Liberia's 2011 elections by training 50 women as poll watchers and educating voters on upcoming constitutional amendement; and to enable two grassroots groups in the Mano River subregion to provide business skills training and start-up capital for women's income generating projects.

Save My Future Foundation (SAMFU)
Sustainable Forest Management

To promote sustainable management of Liberia's forests by empowering community members to use the laws governing the forestry sector to engage with the government and logging companies; and to support continued awareness by enabling two CBOs to develop action plans for implementation in two counties and run a radio program.

Self-Help Initiative for Sustainable Development (SHIFSD)
Innovative Microcredit and Education Project

To strengthen the livelihoods of 187 women and young people who have benefitted from SHIFSD's small loan program by organizing four refresher workshops on financial literacy and business development; and to support two staff members to take classes on project management and monitoring and evaluation to increase SHIFSD's organizational effectiveness.

Sustainable Development Institute (SDI)
Empowerment for Community-Based Initiatives

To sustain SDI's Empowerment for Community Based Initiative, a program that strengthens local communities’ ability to organize, share information, network and advocate for their rights with the Liberian government; and to support negotiations with three logging companies to ensure that they fulfill their agreements to pay revenues to forest-dependent communities.

West Africa Network for Peacebuilding Liberia (WANEP)
Institutional Capacity Building

To strengthen the institutional capacities of WANEP by developing a monitoring and evaluation system and documenting the stories of women peacemakers; and to provide a series of trainings in women's rights, advocacy and leadership skills to 15 women's groups.
