WAPCAS was founded in 1996 to combat HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) among sex workers and other at-risk populations by distributing condoms and offering preventative services, testing, treatment and counseling.

Ghana Sister-to-Sister HIV/AIDS Project
To reduce the transmission of HIV and other STIs among 600 female sex workers and their 500 non-paying partners through peer education, condom promotion, counseling and treatment; and to strengthen the integration of sex workers into the wider community through community dialogues and vocational training.
