Challenging Heights was founded in 2003 by a former child slave to ensure a secure and dignified future for at-risk children and youth. The organization pursues this objective through rehabilitating and reintegrating victims of child trafficking. James Kofi Anan, the organization’s executive director, was the 2008 recipient of the Free the Slaves Award.
