To realize women's rights through the establishment of a cereal bank and community association that will catalyze community organizing and build women's social and economic capital.

To increase access to education for 160 adolescent girls. This grant provides financial support, tutorial classes and training to help girls gain confidence and assertiveness.

To enable female students to defend their rights and improve their academic performance by building a network of school girls' clubs in Debre Zeit and by providing trainings on reproductive health, gender, leadership, peer education and paralegal skills.

To empower people living with HIV/AIDS through community self-help groups, income-generating activities, and vocational training; to provide educational support to orphans and vulnerable children.

To promote the retention of adolescent girls in secondary school through financial support, mentorship, training and peer education.

To increase girls' access to quality education and a safe school environment by establishing a community-based mechanism for accountability and ownership of schools; and to promote girls' self-reliance through life-skills training and mentoring.
