SOS Sida was created in 2002 to improve awareness and treatment of HIV and assist victims of sexual violence in conflict affected areas of DRC. The organization trains medical service providers and ensures that victims of sexual violence have adequate access to medical and psychosocial assistance.
Project
Improving Services for GBV Survivors
To provide medical and psychosocial care to 738 survivors of gender-based violence; to support the operations of a community-run HIV testing and counseling center; to distribute 500 publications and advocate with local authorities for the protection of women's rights; and to receive skills training in risk assessment and security management to enhance the protection and security of SOS Sida staff and beneficiaries.
