Upcoming Application Deadline

Fellowship Year beginning October 2013: Applications for the 2013-2014 World Partners Fellowship will be available in October 2012.

Fellowship Dates: Eleven months, beginning in October of each year.

Fellowship Location: Fellows will volunteer in India.

Information session: World Partners Fellowship 2012 Information Session.

Group interview in New York: Finalists will attend a group interview in New York on March 11th, 2012.

Notification of acceptances: Mid-March 2012

Eligibility

Before applying to World Partners Fellowship please ensure you meet the eligibility requirements.

Application Materials

AJWS assesses each candidate's compatibility with our program through a written application, references, and individual and group interviews. In order for an application to be considered, AJWS must receive all application materials by the deadline.

Please have the following items ready when you begin:

  • Your passport number and expiration date
  • The names and email addresses of two references
  • The names, phone numbers, and email addresses of two emergency contacts
  • Your essays prepared in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
    • In one page, please discuss the following: What is your approach to working in social justice and/or international development?  How does this approach connect to your desire to serve as an AJWS World Partners Fellow?
    • In one page, please elaborate on one or more of your international experiences.  Describe the experience.  What did you learn about yourself?  What do you anticipate will be challenging as a World Partners Fellow?
  • Your short answer questions prepared in Microsoft Word or PDF format.  Please answer the following on the following in no more than four sentences each.
    • How do your Jewish identity and/or your ethical intuition and values motivate you to pursue this experience?
    • Does the region of the fellowship affect your desire to serve as a World Partners Fellow? If so, how?
    • Upon completion of the fellowship, how would you measure whether you were a successful World Partners Fellow?
  • Your résumé or CV in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
