What to expect upon return
In addition to its volunteer programs overseas, AJWS works to promote global citizenship within the larger American Jewish community. For that reason, we require participants to share the impact of their experiences when they return. To fulfill this requirement, Volunteer Corps participants can:
- Write an article to be published in a local newspaper or magazine
- Speak at a synagogue, community center or other public forum
- Organize a gathering or recruitment event
- Organize an exhibit of photos or other media
- Raise funds or donate to AJWS
Participants are also encouraged to recruit new volunteers, mentor future volunteers, participate in AJWS's advocacy campaigns on global issues and connect with other volunteers locally for activism and events.
