Domestic Action

Think globally, act locally.

Your volunteer experience overseas is just the beginning of a lifetime of engagement with social justice. To strengthen the lessons you learned in the field and to help promote global citizenship within the larger American Jewish community, we require volunteers to share the impact of their experiences when they return.

This section of our Website will equip you with concrete tools and resources to complete an action project in your home community. As you develop your project, consider the multiple dimensions of activism: learning, teaching, service, advocacy, ethical consumption and tzedakah.

After you have submitted your Action Tracker to AJWS staff, please see the links in the global citizenship star, below, for resources in the area you have selected for your project. As a reminder, your project should be completed within three months of returning from your country of service.
