What to expect upon return
The trip to the developing world is not an isolated experience. Following the program, each volunteer must complete an individual project as well as participate in a group project with the other participants. To facilitate the planning of the group project and to process the experiences in the field, staff members from the group's Hillel or university organization will organize at least two post-trip meetings. Many Alternative Breaks groups continue to meet regularly over the course of the academic year and develop the tools to integrate the lessons of the program into life at home.
Many volunteers get involved in global justice on campus by volunteering, organizing campus events and participating in advocacy.
