Global Hunger Shabbat
Thank you to the 200+ communities who made Global Hunger Shabbat such a success!
We've heard stories of amazing programs and meaningful educational experiences. We are also saw the fruits of your advocacy and organizing work: you collected over 4,000 signatures on the New Petition for New Urgency within a week, you are running a number of ongoing meetings with congressional representatives, and the list goes on!
For those who were not able to observe Global Hunger Shabbat this year, never fear! Though some of our resources are geared specifically to November 2012, Global Hunger Shabbat truly can be observed any time of year. Please feel free to sign up and check out our resources, or be in touch at getinvolved@ajws.org, to learn more.
Global Hunger Shabbat is a key component of AJWS’s Reverse Hunger campaign, and an opportunity to take stock as we continue our work to advance food justice for all. How does our tradition inspire us? How do we use our power as American Jews to make a difference in the lives of people facing hunger in the developing world? How can we be more effective in our role as advocates and catalysts for change?
