Educate Others

Use these resources to teach about global hunger and food justice in your congregation:

For the majority of small-scale farmers and producers in the developing world, the benefits of their hard work and economic investments are small. Isolated from global markets, the path of crops from their hands to your table is long and filled with powerful intermediaries. As a result, little of the money that you spend on food reaches them. That's why Better Beans chocolate and coffee are produced by community-owned co-operatives that enable the farmers who produce them to receive fair prices for their crops and access to affordable credit and equitable long-term trade relationships.

By choosing to buy Fair Trade, you help build a global system that treats all producers equitably and embodies the Torah's vision of a just society.

In addition to directly supporting farmers through fair trade practices, Equal Exchange contributes 15 cents to AJWS’s “Fighting Hunger from the Ground Up” for every pound of Better Beans chocolate or coffee purchased.
